2015

I have been super busy this holiday season! I want to apologize for not being on here. I want to start 2015 off right. I also want to start new things this new year. I started a new bored Pinterest specifically for my upcoming new year. One thing I am for sure doing is a detox from my phone this year.  feel like I am always glued to my phone, it is a bad habit that I need to fix. So I found a week long detox from my life......um...I mean my phone.

I want to try and become unglued from my phone this year. I don't want tools all the things going on around me
I am also going to try and lose a little bit of weight before the summer of 2015. I found this neat  thing on Pinterest that is a month without a certain thing and I love it. The only one I am switching is the month without beer. Since I do not drink I am either going to make it without sweets or sodas. I haven't made up my mind.
Shape Up: The Off-Limits List I think I might try it, not to be bikini ready, but something that makes me feel good!I think I will skip the no alcohol since I can't drink & do no sweets again!
I am also going to remodel my closet to maximize space. I am a little obsessed with shopping and clothes. I am going to go through and get rid of some clothes, so I will have more room for new clothes! I will probably post pictures when I get around to doing that. You can definitely keep up with me on Pinterest and find out more about my resolutions this year!

Books

So I haven't been doing much of anything lately. I have finals coming up so I have been doing A LOT of homework and studying. But, in the midst of all this stress I decided to start a new book. Especially since I will be getting some money to go buy some new books for Christmas. After the New Years I hope to have finished most of the new books on my bookshelf, that way I can take the to McKay's (the best book/record store ever) , and turn them in for some store credit!! So I decided since I don't have much to talk about, that I would share my latest books. Where She Went (If I Stay, #2)Currently I am reading the second book to If I Stay & I am liking it quite a bit! Once I get done I will of course share a better review.
CandyI am also reading this amazing book that my sister is letting me borrow. I have actually had it for a while, due to the fact of me being so incredibly busy. But, it is really good and I can't wait to find out what happens in the end!
If you would like to know more about what I am reading then you can follow me on Goodreads. https://www.goodreads.com/kjhenslee

Elf on the shelf?!Here?! Now?!

So I have fallen in love with all these elf on the shelf ideas on Pinterest. But, there was a problem. I couldn't do it because I am the youngest in the family, so there was no one to do it for :( And then it hit me the other day. Why not be the elf on the shelf for my family?! I wouldn't be cheesy about it. I would take the ideas I found and add a message with it. So it began last night........ I glued googly eyes on everything in the fridge (with my brother's help). I also typed up a message to go along with it. So I decided I would share what I did and the letter that went along with it! And I did this all the night before, so it started this morning!
 This is the fridge.
And this is the coffee:) It actually didn't take too long to do these things since I had my brother's help. I was also going to do everything in the cabinets, but it was too late at night for that!

This is the letter that I typed up at around 11 last night so that I could leave it for them in the morning. I put the letter in an envelope I decorated and left it on my mom's steering wheel for her to find when leaving for work! So now I am my family's real life elf on the shelf:) So I will be doing some crazy things along with thoughtful and nice things! I will try and share everything I am doing.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Well according to Andy Williams it is the most wonderful time of the year, and I have to say that I agree completely. I love how happy most everyone is and how people care more around this time. And of course the decorations are an added plus. I decorated just recently an I am still working on a few more things!
This is the big tree that is in the living room. It is my absolute favorite one. Its theme is Sugars & Sweets.
This is my personal tree. It is my middle name (Joy, if you can't tell) all over it! It also has a few special ornaments on there just because they are lucky enough to make it on my tree.
This is in the dining room. We don't have many decorations, but since we are hosting the family Christmas dinner this year we had to decorate it.
The cat decided she would take a hardcore cat nap after all her "hard" work......

Christmas is in the air

I hope that everyone had a delightful Thanksgiving! I know I sure did! I went to two dinners and it was quite eventful!
My brother and I just so happened to both be wearing plaid, so we took a minute and took a picture. He said that siblings who twin together win together! So I guess we are so winning! My brother is just one of the many things I am thankful for!

So now that Thanksgiving is over I can get ready for Christmas without being judged. So now let the 25 Days of Christmas Countdown, the crafts, decorations, tunes, and quality family time begin!! Of course I have already decorated....... So the pictures will be coming soon! Along with a few crafts I have done! So come check me out Tuesday afternoon for some new exciting things!

So I have exciting news! I got inducted into BETA! If you do not know what that is, it is a great thing to be a part of! It is highly recognized and it mean that I have good grades & good attendance! I am very proud of myself for this little achievement!
My mom showed up. And she finally took a selfie with me:)
I also took a picture with my best friend Maria! She got inducted into BETA also.
And my grandparents couldn't show up, so they had flowers sent to my house! I had never had flowers mailed to my house and so I was quite excited and surprised!
All in all it was a great day & I am so honored to be a part of this wonderful organization!

#Busy

I know I said I would have my latest craft done by today, and I honestly thought I would, but I didn't. I went to my friend Kim's house this weekend, so I was not able to work on my project. I got all the lines painted. I am planning on tracing it either tonight or tomorrow, and then I will glitterize it and I will be finished. I will not promise what day I will have it finished, due to the fact that every time I say that I don't finish it when planned. So please just bare with me, I am still working on the ways of the whole blogging world! Maybe eventually I will get to post something fun and not just another apology!

Working on being crafty

So I am not finished with this craft but I am working on it! I am so excited because it is turning out so well so far. I found this craft on Pinterest as usual and so I am doing it.
Deer head template for my cameo cushions - plus instructions on glittering if needed in future
This is the craft I am currently working on. I went to HeyLaurenRene.com to find out exactly how to do it.

So far I have only put on my masking tape and I am painting the black stripes on.

So first I took a ruler and measure 2 inches between each line and just used the ruler to make straight lines. Then, I went I put the painter's tape on, but I actually put them a little below the lines so I could paint over the pencil marks.

I am in the process of painting now! Sorry for the bad lighting. I promise that it is actually black paint not brown! I hope you have enjoyed my craft so far! I should have it all done by Tuesday! And in case you are wondering, I put everything I do on my Pinterset! Feel free to follow me! I am on it 24/7 :)

Let's get ready

So I have a new craft I am working on at the moment. I found it on Pinterest and fell in love, so I decided I would purchase the things needed and put the steps and finished product on my blog. I already have all the things needed. The only reason I can't post about it today is because I have been so busy that I haven't been able to start it. But I am preparing tonight and then I am going to actually start on it Tomorrow or Thursday! So wish me luck on my project and I will show it to you next week. Oh and I may start doing two blog posts a week, because I absolutely love doing this and I think it would be fun to do it twice a week!

First Craft of The Season

I finished my craft today! I am so proud of it! It is my first craft for Christmas!!! I got the idea for this craft on Mardi Gras Outlet. The craft I did was glitter branches. Which I put in a little red vase that I already owned.

This is the picture from the blog that I got the idea from.

These are the supplies I used. Mod Podge, a Popsicle stick to spread glue, Silver glitter, and of course a branch.

I then put the Mod Podge on at the top. I went from top to bottom when putting on my glitter. I then sprinkled glitter on the branch. I did this over some newspaper so I could catch the glitter and re-use it. And you of course keep doing this until the branch is covered.
This is my project  so far. I am going to do a few more branches so that it is more equal. I am going to also fill the vase so that you can't see the ends of the branches since you can sort of see through it! But it will look a lot better after those few critiques. And you are welcome to copy this idea! And another great idea I saw on another blog was to just spray the branches with spray glitter, which is not as time consuming as what I did!

So sorry

So I tend to be the kind of person with a system or s list. So you may say that I am a little organized. But to be honest if I don't put things into my "schedule" I forget all about it. So I forgot to keep my blog updated and to post my latest craft. Which due to the cray weather we have been having here in Georgia, I haven't been able to finish my craft all the way. So tomorrow (if the weather lets me) I will finish my craft and have it posted by today or tomorrow. I am going to try to have a reminder like every Tuesday to post to my blog. So it will become a weekly task that I remember to do! Since I know I won't be able to finish a craft every week (I am a very busy person), I will sometimes have like a top ten of books or music. Or I will tell about what I am working on. And occasionally I may have a post of an outfit or exciting things I am going to do or are doing! So I am so sorry that I am yet again going to  post-pone again but hopefully this won't happen again for a while! ~Thanks~

Crafts to come soon.....

So I have recently changed the name of my blog. I am hoping to be able to post a lot more than in the past. I am currently working on a DIY project for the holidays. Most people would think that it is too early to start working n things for Christmas, but those people are wrong. I have a very long list of things that I have to get done in time for the holiday season. And if you think about it most people decorate around Thanksgiving time, so if I am going to decorate by then I had better be finished in time! So in a few days I will be posting a picture of my most recent project (it's a small one!) & I will also be including pictures of the process and steps. So Goodbye for now, I will be posting soon!

Something new that I have started

I have always loved writing in a journal, but lately I have not had many things to talk about or the time to write. I was on Pinterest the other day, like always, and I saw this neat 30 day writing challenge! I know that it is already 10 days into this month but I am starting it anyways! So far I am loving it and have searched for more to do when I finish my current one! I love how they all just have little things to write about, like sharing five facts about yourself. I added a photo of my current challenge! Maybe some one else would also like to start this challenge also!

Let me tell you a little something

Hello! My name is Kendall and I am new to blogging! I have always wanted to try it, because I love reading them. I love to do DIY , traveling , searching for new music , and reading. I will hopefully be able to express feelings on here , share DIY projects , new music I have found , books i am reading , and well just a little bit of everything! I will hopefully be able to blog almost every week or even everyday about different things. I am also not afraid to expand on my opinions or things that are currently happening in my life, so if you do not like people who do that just pass up on reading my blog.
